The International Technical School of Kigali (ITS Kigali) is an offshoot of ESTH-Gasogi. ESTH-Gasogi was established in 2003 and was initially located at Kagarama Sector in Kicukiro District. In the starting, the school had a small number of students, but, with the expansion of infrastructure, it increased significantly in years. Subsequently, in 2006, the school shifted from Kagarama to Gasogi in Ndera Sector. Since 2006 ESTH-Gasogi offered two (2) TVET accredited programs that are Hotel Operations and Tourism with a student population of over 700 students. ESTH-Gasogi is also known for helping underprivileged students in accessing education and excel in national exams.

On 1st January 2018, a new ownership acquired the school from its founders. Currently, the school is owned by Mr. NiyigabaIgnace, whose passion for education always had his life driven with belief that Education and learning directly influence economic growth, poverty reduction, and human development positively.

An appreciable number of ESTH alumni can be found at reputed hotels of Rwanda, at national parks, ICT technical service providing companies, and tourist areas. To run parallel to the economic and technical growth of the world, we direct our efforts in bringing an international standard in each program or activity in ITSK.

The school management is determined to establish an internally well-schemed strategy for the wholesome growth of the institute. We formulate smart policies and procedures for all school processes. For a start, the school developed a five-year plan  (ITS Kigali Strategic Plan 2018-2023), a roadmap to achieve aimed objectives and priorities.

We look forward to leveraging the different expertise and practical experience from the industry in program development, delivery, and evaluation. This strategic relationship enables the school to re-align its curriculums continuously to produce graduates who can meet the expectations of the industry and are relevant at all times. We already have strong ties with many local hotels and companies that are well-reputed and viable for soliciting placements for our students.

Our Mission

The school’s mission is to uplift the standard of education to new heights for our students to find a uniquely identifiable position of our school in Rwanda and the world. We aim to make a significant and acknowledged contribution to education in Rwanda.

Objectives

Our primary objective is to train our students efficiently enough to place them in the market as job creators rather than job seekers, for easy survival in the future. Again, as our school is a technical school, we aim to install highest levels of skill in our students son that they can stand competent to the world. As we teach in tourism and hospitality sector, we have a goal of training our students to become good service providers to our Nation region as well as the world. We aim to enhance the market value of our students and teachers to make them significant and eminent for Rwanda and the world To set new milestones in tourism, hospitality and computer systems industry is also a major objective of our institute.

Strategic plan

Our humble plan is to make our students stand confidently in front of international market and be able to compete the competition. We are planning to arrange a professional staff in coming years in order to uplift quality of education delivered to our students. For our existing staff we are planning to arrange special training programs to make them achieve International standards of teaching. Among our most preferred plans is to increase the quantity and quality of apparatus and equipment used in the training process.

As we are expecting a good number of admissions each year, so we plan to increase our infrastructure. We are going to add more rooms and spaces to the building. To enable our students explore new opportunities and new dimensions of education, we plan to arrange national and international tours for our students. We are also planning to add more niches to the school like tailoring, Electricity, Hairdressing and Construction. Once we acquire more land, we will also start nursery and primary classes. We are making our best efforts to make ITS Kigali a prestigious and most efficient school in Rwanda, the nation, and the world.
